You knew I could not resist, just couldn’t do it, like a fly to light and bee to its honey. As soon as the first murmurings and mutterings started to rise and fall about Vector databases, I took note. Something new, something shiny, the promise of a challenge? Count me in.
It’s hard to so no to something new in tech isn’t it? The human spirit is eternally drawn to the novel and the new. We need it. As a Data Engineering … I need it.
I’m starting out at ground zero. I know next to nothing about Vector databases, other than I’ve heard on the street that it’s being used for feature stores and possibly LLM training data, which would explain the sudden popularity.
Either way, I’m going to kick the tires and find out what’s going on.
